MICHELE MICHEL
COSTUME DESIGNER
Hi, I’m Michele, and I create characters through costume design. Born in Mexico to a multicultural family, I was immersed in a world of diverse languages and cultures from an early age. Fluent in Spanish, English, Italian, and French, this global perspective is uniquely woven into the fabric of my character-driven designs.
After studying Fashion Design in Rome at the Istituto Europeo di Design and serving as head designer for a prominent Italian pronto moda firm, I discovered my true passion in character creation. My journey into film began at Cinecittà Studios, leading to my first official role on Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather: Part III—an experience that ignited a lifelong dedication to storytelling through costume.
I have since designed and illustrated costumes for contemporary, period, and futuristic projects across many successful films, popular television shows, and commercials. Over the years, I’ve had the honor of working with wonderfully talented actors and directors, including Keanu Reeves, Christian Bale, Winona Ryder, Al Pacino, Chris Evans, and Forest Whitaker, as well as directors like Michael Mann, David Ayer, and Antoine Fuqua.
Based in the Hollywood Hills, I am a proud member of the Costume Designers Guild. Beyond design, I am an award-winning screenwriter, receiving the Hartley-Merrill International prize at Cannes. And yes, my real name truly is Michele Michel—no kidding, I did not invent it, though I do explain it every day.
